The Essentials of Protein

Protein is one powerful nutrients that is part of every cell. As one of the 6 classes of food, it functions in building your body tissues.Protein are adequate diet that is important in body building, tissue repairs, in  regulating hormone and enzymes functions. 

Often times, our daily diet lacks protein, and protein unlike other classes of food such as carbohydrates which can be stored up in the body, they (amino-acids) are constantly broken down and used up, and  the body needs amino acids every day.
What is protein?
Protein is a macro-nutrient used by the body for building, repairing and maintaining the body tissues.
What are protein made of?
Proteins are made up of amino-acids. Amino acids are the building blocks.
What are the different types of proteins?
There are 20 amino acids, and they are splits into two categories
(a) Essential amino acids- these are obtained from food, they are considered essential because they are not made by the body. there are 8 essentials out of the twenty.
(b) Non essential amino acids- these are made by the body, and it comprises of 12 out of the twenty.
Examples of proteins are, eggs, meat, poultry, milk, soy, beans and fish.
So try to add one of the listed protein food to your meal every day. You can also add examples of proteins you know that was not listed above.
