UN peacekeepers accused of sex abuse in CAR

In Central African Republic allegations of sexual exploitation by UN staff has been reported and a total of 16 cases of which thirteen of UN peacekeeping personnel are said to be involved.

Although, the UN mission strongly condemns any instance of sexual exploitation and abuse committed by UN personnel in the Central African Republic(CAR)
The UN spokesperson to the secretary-general Stephane Dujarric, said that those accused are to remain in the country and will not be allowed to leave the CAR for the time being until all investigation is carried out.
The UN who have been in peace keeping duties in CAR since April 2014 due to the region violence between Muslims and Christians which have led to the deaths of thousands and several hundreds of thousand fled to neighboring countries.
Stephanie further inform local authorities about internal investigation on the sexual exploitation and abuse cases and he further added that if a person(s) is found guilty, they will have no UN immunity.
