Ekiti Lawmakers Protest Over Governor's Blocked Bank Account

Today, in the state capital of Ekiti state, members of State House of Assembly in Ekiti State held a protest in the state capital. The protest which is as a result of the blocking of Governor Ayo Fayose’s  Zenith bank account by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, June 20, 2016.

The agency alleged that Fayose’s bank account was used to launder funds meant for the purchase of arms.
The action taken by EFCC, didnt go well with members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly   as they expressed a total disapproval over the actions of the EFCC describing it as illegal.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Kola Oluwole explained that the protest was to show that the lawmakers are in support of the Governor and further more said
“The frozen of his account without following due process is a high level of intimidation and we condemn it.”
While responding to the recent event to the press, Governor Ayo Fayose said that no one can intimidate him.
