Oyo NURTW Boss Arrested For Rape

The Vice-chairman of Gbagi branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, (NURTW)‎ Oyo state branch, Alhaji Saheed Tijani aka ‘Omo Olomo’ has been arrested by the Oyo State police command for raping a 28 years old Abosede on her way home from work on Monday, April 4, 2016 around 9 pm.

According to police report, Abosede was said to have resisted but was subdued by Omo-Olomo and his men , there after she was  forcibly taken to a Hotel in the Sango area of the state. She was later drugged and subsequently mercilessly raped till the next day.

It was soon gathered that the suspect and his accomplice went underground to evade arrest but was arrested after several days of investigation by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the command.
 The suspect in an interview with ‎The Nation, said he and Abosede do have sexual intercourse based on agreement between them.

 On his own side of the story, Omo- Olomo said, “We are friends and we have been having an affair together. I did not rape her she agreed to it and I do give her money whenever we have an affair. Am surprise with this allegation she levelled against me”.

Although, police  investigation revealed that Omo Olomo until his arrest was a pain in the neck of innocent citizens especially female some of whom he has raped in‎ the past could not report due to stigmatization and fear of attack by the suspect who was dreaded. This has also earned him suspension from the union on many occassions”
Abosede also went further to reveal that she have two kids but due to the incidence, her husband has chased her out of the house.
