Lagos state is buying helicopters to combat crime and traffic.

I  The Lagos State government will buy three helicopters next month to tackle crimes and monitor traffic, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has said.  Ambode, who was a guest on Soni Irabor Live (SIL) on Inspiration FM, said he was concerned about the robberies in the state.

Several persons injured in Hong Kong ferry accident.

At least 124 people were injured when a high-speed ferry travelling to Hong Kong from Macau hit an object in the water.  The ferry, with 174 passengers and crew on board, lost power close to Lantau island, at about 18:00 local time (10:00GMT) and began taking on water, official told the BBC.

Kogi State University expel 68 students

Kogi State University, Ayangba, has expelled 68 students for examination malpractice and poor academic performance, according to a statement. The statement, issued by the Registrar of the university, Dr Yakubu Abubakar in Lokoja on Sunday, said 19 of the affected students were expelled for various examination misconduct and 49 others withdrawn for poor academic performance.
